In the past year company PARSEK GROUP EOOD has performed dozens of projects around the country. The project for renovation and implementation of energy efficiency measures in the outpatient clinic in Shabla, which the company has completed in the past year, is among the most significant ones in terms of its social aspect.   In a small municipality the availability of a hospital and emergency service is a major social factor influencing the demographic structure and subsequently the economic growth of the municipality.

The renovation of the outpatient clinic is the principal steps in creating a comfortable working environment and attracting more and qualified medical staff which in turn leads to building thrust and confidence within the residents of the town.

The site is a public service building, a two storey outpatient clinic having one entrance with unheated basement, where energy efficiency measures have been implemented. The building was constructed and is in operation since 1984. Each working day it is being used by staff consisting of 20 persons. The building is used as an outpatient clinic where working, storage and sanitary premises are separated.    .

Prior to implementing the energy efficiency measures, the energy characteristics of the building classified it as energy consumption class G.  For increasing the energy characteristics of the building a set of 5 energy saving measures have been applied, and following their implementation the site was classified to energy consumption class D.

The following energy efficiency measures have been applied:

• thermal insulation of external walls

EPS thermal insulation 60 mm thick was made. The thermal insulation was placed at the external side and above it – mineral plastering. Coefficient of thermal conductivity λ ≤ 0.034 W/m2K. The total area of the wall basement in contact with the outside air is 535,00 м2

• thermal insulation of the roof

Heat insulation is applied above the suspended ceiling made of plasterboard on a metal structure or "Armstrong" type. The thermal insulation is made of mineral wool with a coefficient of thermal conductivity λ = 0.047 W/m2K. The thermal insulation is 80 mm thick. The total area of the ceiling is 510 m2

• replacement of joinery

The joinery is replaced with mono side one, with metal profiles and single glass, and the woodwork is changed with PVC profiles and double glass pane with one low-emission glass with coefficient of thermal conductivity 1.60 W/m2K. Total area of replaced joinery 226,51 m2.

• replacement of lights

The lights in the premises have been replaced. The fluorescent lights have been replaced with energy efficient lights with fluorescent tubes 14W/T5 with electronic ballast and electronic control gear for starting. The filament lamps are replaced with energy efficient lights type 14W/E27. The power network supplying the lights is partially replaced.

The wooden roof structure is completely replaced as well as all roof parts - roof tiles, facing, front boards, thermal insulation and waterproofing. The heat source is a boiler room with liquid fuel (petroleum) – located in the adjacent building of municipal Administration Shabla.
